🗺 The 4 selection rounds
Knowing the road ahead removes 80% of the anxiety. Here's what each round actually looks like.
Preliminary Screening & Height Check
Document verification, height + visual appearance check, a brief introduction. Akasa's prelim is friendlier than legacy carriers but no less eliminatory — show energy and warmth from the first hello.
Group Activity / JAM
Either a short Just A Minute (~60 seconds on a given topic) or a small group activity assessing teamwork, communication, and personality fit with the "It's Your Sky" ethos.
Personal HR Interview
Behavioural and motivational questions ("Why Akasa?", "Tell me about yourself", customer-service scenarios) plus Akasa-specific brand questions about its philosophy and growth journey.
Final Round (Senior Panel / Medical)
A senior panel interview followed by a medical evaluation (vision, hearing, dental, general fitness). Senior round looks for cultural fit, composure, and a service-led personality.

What separates shortlisted candidates from the rest isn't talent — it's preparation density.
- Akasa's culture is consciously YOUNGER than legacy carriers. Personality > polish. Warmth + energy will beat over-rehearsed answers every time.
- Research Akasa's growth story: founded 2022, all-737-MAX fleet, rapid expansion, announced international routes. Knowing dates + facts shows real interest.
- For the "Why Akasa?" question, never compare it negatively to IndiGo or Air India. Pivot positively — growing WITH a young airline is the story they want to hear.
- Akasa's uniform is gender-inclusive and contemporary by design. Reflect that modern sensibility in your own interview attire — polished but not stiff.
- For JAM topics, lean into stories about hospitality and human warmth, not aviation trivia. Akasa hires people who will make passengers FEEL something good.
- Confirm swimming requirements before applying. Even if not formally mandatory, basic swimming ability is sometimes assessed in the medical round.
