Are you eligible?

IndiGo has some specific filters — most candidates don't know about BMI checks until Round 1. Read this before you show up.

🗺 The 4 selection rounds

Knowing the road ahead removes 80% of the anxiety. Here's what each round actually looks like.

Round 1

Preliminary & BMI Check

Height, weight measurement (BMI must be 18–22), a brief self-introduction, and a skin/tattoo check. This is the fastest eliminatory round — arrive groomed to standard.

Round 2

JAM / Group Discussion

Just A Minute: speak continuously for about 60 seconds on a random topic. Recruiters assess fluency, composure, and personality — not vocabulary.

💡 TipPractice with a timer. The goal is zero long pauses. Structure your thoughts in three beats: open strong → one or two points → end with a sentence, not a trail-off.
Round 3

Personal HR Interview

Behavioral and motivational questions (Why IndiGo? Tell me about yourself. Describe a time you handled a difficult customer.), plus airline-specific brand questions.

💡 TipAnswer behavioral questions with STAR: Situation → Task → Action → Result. Keep it concise — two minutes max per answer.
Round 4

AI Assessment / Leadership Round

A camera-based AI assessment or senior panel interview assessing decision-making, composure under pressure, and leadership potential.

💡 TipTreat the camera like a passenger. Warm eye contact, clear speech, steady posture — the same energy that works in Round 1 works here.

🏆 The winning strategy

What separates shortlisted candidates from the rest isn't talent — it's preparation density.

  1. Dress exactly to standard from the moment you arrive: half-sleeve shirt, knee-length skirt, skin-coloured stockings, high heels, neat hair bun, clean minimal makeup.
  2. IndiGo values the "IndiGo smile" — warm, continuous, friendly eye contact throughout every round, not just when you are speaking.
  3. Before attending, memorize three facts: IndiGo's core values, its top five routes, and its current on-time performance ranking.
  4. BMI 18–22 is a hard gate. If you are close to the boundary, measure yourself accurately beforehand — Round 1 is not the place to find out.
  5. Behavioral questions come in Round 3. Prepare three STAR stories in advance: one difficult customer, one team conflict, one personal achievement.
